QUOTA Training & Health Safety

Not medical care or emergency guidance

QUOTA CORE, OVERLOAD, FLEX and SWIM cannot diagnose an injury, assess technique, or decide whether exercise is medically appropriate for you. For an emergency or severe symptoms, stop and contact local emergency services.

What the apps do

CORE and OVERLOAD plan strength workouts. FLEX guides stretching and mobility. SWIM plans pool sessions and reads completed swims from Apple Health. The apps can help you plan a session and review past workouts. They do not observe your movement, know your medical history, or replace a qualified clinician or coach.

SWIM and water safety

Never swim alone. Swim with a buddy and, where possible, in a lifeguarded area. Follow pool rules, lane direction and passing etiquette. Shorten a set or take more rest when you need it. A distance goal is never a reason to keep swimming when you are tired, cold, breathless or unwell.

SWIM's workout plans are for pools. Being able to import an open-water swim does not make a pool plan suitable for a lake, river or sea. Open water adds currents, tides, cold, waves, weather changes, boat traffic and uncertain exits. Use designated swimming areas, check local conditions and closures, and get appropriate instruction before swimming in unfamiliar conditions.

Check your Watch before swimming

Before leaving, charge your Watch and check the scheduled workout and pool length in its Workout app. At the pool, start the swimming workout and check that Water Lock is on before entering the water. Apple turns it on automatically for swimming workouts. Water Lock prevents accidental screen taps; it does not make the Watch waterproof or protect you in the water.

Neither QUOTA SWIM nor your Watch is a water-safety device. Do not rely on them to detect distress, prevent drowning or summon a rescue. A scheduled plan is not proof that your Watch is recording. Check that recording has started and follow Apple's water-resistance guidance for your model.

When to get medical advice

If a condition, medication, recent illness, injury or surgery could affect your breathing, alertness or ability to swim, ask a qualified clinician whether you need medical clearance and what precautions to take. SWIM cannot clear you to exercise. If you feel unwell in the water, stop, signal for help and get out safely. For severe symptoms or an emergency, contact local emergency services.

Read the Red Cross water-safety guidance, its open-water precautions, and Apple's guides to Water Lock and Watch water resistance.

When to stop a workout

End the set for sharp, unusual, or increasing pain; dizziness; chest pain; numbness; loss of control; or technique breakdown. Seek qualified help when appropriate.

Adjust the workout when needed

Reduce the load, change an exercise, skip an interval, take more rest or end the workout when needed. You do not have to finish what the app suggests.

Set up the environment first

Use appropriate clearances, safeties, spotters, attachments, and equipment. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for every rack, machine, cable, bench, bar, plate, dumbbell, or digital-resistance device.

QUOTA FLEX limits

FLEX provides general stretching and mobility routines, not diagnosis, rehabilitation, or treatment. Choose a comfortable range, use stable support where needed, and stop or skip a movement that does not feel right. A timer or suggested stretch depth is not a reason to push through pain. Session time includes transitions.

Feedback and movement check-ins record your personal observations. FLEX does not measure flexibility, observe your technique, or establish that a deeper stretch is appropriate. Movement exclusions help tailor routines but cannot account for every injury, recent surgery, pregnancy, or health condition; seek qualified advice when needed.

QUOTA CORE limits

CORE balances movement patterns and progresses from completed sets and effort feedback. Its rule of waiting for repeated successful sessions before advancing is a conservative product choice, not a universal scientific threshold. It cannot verify that a reported set was completed with appropriate range of motion, breathing, bracing, or technique.

Timers are pacing aids, not instructions to continue through pain or fatigue. Record the load you actually used, choose only equipment and setup that are truly available, and replace any movement you cannot perform safely.

QUOTA OVERLOAD limits

OVERLOAD supports high-volume strength programming. Program percentages and training maxes do not account for every lifter's readiness, recovery, technique, injury history, or response to fatigue. Start conservatively, especially if you are new to the program, returning after time away, changing units or equipment, or training without supervision.

Equipment substitutions are movement-matched starting estimates, not validated one-to-one load conversions. Leverage, stability, pulley ratios, resistance curves, machine geometry, and digital resistance can make the same displayed number feel and behave differently. Edit the estimate before the first set, leave a few reps in reserve, and do not use a best-effort set on substitute equipment to decide that your original barbell training max should increase.

Apple Health does not validate a workout

If enabled, CORE and OVERLOAD save completed strength workouts to Apple Health; FLEX saves flexibility workouts. OVERLOAD can also display recent workout summaries through its separate Show other workouts opt-in. Neither a saved nor an imported record verifies exercise quality, energy expenditure, technique, medical suitability, or that a prescribed load was appropriate. Imported summaries do not change OVERLOAD's program, training maxes, strength trends, or muscle coverage. SWIM reads completed swimming workouts; it does not write them to Health. A swim record does not confirm that the swimmer or the conditions were safe.

Who should seek individualized advice

Consider guidance from a qualified clinician or strength professional before using the apps if you are pregnant, under medical care, returning from injury or surgery, managing a cardiovascular, neurological, metabolic, musculoskeletal, or other health condition, or unsure whether strength training, stretching or swimming is appropriate for you.

No guarantee of results

Training outcomes vary. NovoBuild does not guarantee strength, fitness, body-composition, performance, or health outcomes from using any QUOTA app.
